Shirley’s tweet to Q107 and STARS Ambulance basically summarized why these two important lotteries are having a tough time in 2016:
“This year, we are getting by on 1 income at the moment. It’s paying for food and utilities so no extra cash.”
STARS Ambulance responded: “No worries, Shirley! We appreciate your support no matter what way you provide it.”
STARS Ambulance has launched an appeal to get the word out their lottery needs more people to buy. As of Tuesday afternoon, they were 80% sold out.
The lottery has always sold out. Tickets are $25 each, 3 for $60, 6 for $100 and 18 for $250.
STARS was created in 1985 and has flown 30,000 missions in 30 years. The fundraising goal is $11 million.
“Roughly eight times a day across our six bases STARS carries out lifesaving missions.”
