I’ve always enjoyed Iggy Pop’s music whether it was with the Stooges and/or as a solo artist.
And I have always seemed to like Iggy as a person as well. Now, I have never met Iggy but through countless interviews I’ve seen or read he just seems very down to earth while being an incredible story teller with a good ole sense of humour, so it’s only fitting that Iggy will be telling stories about the pre punk band The Stooges! (The only reason, The Stooges weren’t known as punk was that the term hadn’t been used in a music sense yet.)
The Stooges who rocked stages from the late sixties into the mid seventies were a band with a new hardcore sound, unreal stage presence that was fueled by intense agenda’s, drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately the latter caught up with the band and they disbanded 40 years ago only to come back in 2003 and be placed into the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 2010.
Now the ‘real wild child’ is ready to tell the world the story of Stooges in a book that apparently will be a tell-all recount of the days in the band.
Iggy shared his memories with writers Jeff Gold and Johan Kugelberg and they will put those story’s to print. The book will be published and released via Jack White’s Thrid Man Records label and should be out by winter.
As for the Title: ‘Total Chaos: The Story of The Stooges’
