So remember Project Next? The plan to put a new stadium, Arena and field house on the west end of the city’s downtown.
Well that was pretty much turned down by City Hall as the price was just way to high. (The city said it would cost about a $billion more than what the Calgary Next people said)
Then the city who realize changes have to be made to the already outdated Saddledome and McMahon Stadium came up with an alternative plan; A new Arena and event centre on the Stampede Grounds, upgrade the ole McMahon Stadium and build a field house by the University.
After some thinking and tinkering, CEO Ken King of Calgary Sports & Entertainment Group sent a letter out to Season Ticket Holders saying that they would be interested in looking into Plan B a little further.
Imagine big groups like this actual working together! = Cooperation!
