As the Calgary Flames try to piece together their post-season meltdown, the Edmonton Oilers took another step (skate) to making the second round of the NHL Playoffs.
On Thursday night in Edmonton, the Oilers beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 in OT.
The Oilers lead the Western Conference quarter-final series 3-2, with Game 6 Saturday night in San Jose.
Now, of course, the problem is will the Sharks be up to no good on Saturday? Earlier this week, it looked like some gamesmanship was at play when San Jose didn’t turn the arena lights on for Connor McDavid and Co. – and didn’t put the nets out. READ THAT CRAZINESS HERE.
The Sharks may have pulled a fast one – but it’s nowhere near as awesome as what happened to the Toronto Raptors in Milwaukee on Thursday night.
The Bucks played THIS song for the Raptors warm up.
The one other thing the Oilers have going for them is there’s no C Curse that hockey fans are worried about.
Check out this:
Calgary Flames – Swept by the Ducks, out in 4.
Chicago Blackhawks – Swept by the Predators, out in 4.
Columbus Blue Jackets – Lost the series to Penguins.
Are the Canadiens next? The Rangers are ahead in that series 3-2. Next game in that series is Saturday night.
It’s too bad our Flames didn’t last another round or two – our Jeff and Sarah Show listener Jason made this awesome song to Green Day’s Good Riddance; more rounds would have meant more tunes! – Sarah
