Jeff often speaks before he thinks. (I can say that because we’re buddies and we’ve worked together forever!)
Last week, very early in the morning (6:11 am to be exact) he said he’d dye his hair orange if the Edmonton Oilers beat the Anaheim Ducks in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
As of Wed. May 3, Connor McDavid’s Edmonton Oilers are up on the Ducks 2-1.
- Wed., May 3 in Edmonton
- Fri., May 5 in Anaheim
- Sun., May 7 in Edmonton
- Wed. May 10 in Anaheim
Edmonton needs to win just two more games and Jeff’s hair is going orange.
Here’s the problem: His daughter is graduating high school this year and has her high school graduation ceremony just days after Jeff may be turning his hair orange.
Jeff’s wife? Not happy.
Jeff’s mother-in-law? Not pleased.
Jeff’s daughter? Irate.
Jeff is praying that the Ducks finish off the Edmonton Oilers. Un-Albertan of him? Maybe. But it’s also a thing that Calgary Flames fans should never cheer for the Oilers. (It does hurt though that Anaheim cheers “You Can’t Win Here!” to the Flames and our provincial rivals CAN WIN THERE.)
It’s a sticky situation.
A sticky orange situation – much like a spilled can of Orange Crush. – Sarah
