For the past few months there has been the rumour that Led Zeppelin was going to reunite and headline Desert Trip in 2018, but now there’s rumours that may be happening a whole year sooner.
As of right now, there has been no official word on when or if Desert Trip 2017 will be happening. Robert Plant though, changed up his website last night so now all it says is “Any time now…”
This cryptic stuff may seem familiar because that’s essentially how they teased last years Desert Trip, with all the headliners putting out videos that said “October”
Plant has always been the one member of the band who wasn’t keen on reuniting, so having him post something like this has got everyone all fired up about whether or not we will be seeing Zeppelin back on stage again.
That being said, according to Billboard there is “no deal in place” to have Zeppelin play at Desert trip 2017 (if there even is a Desert trip 2017, with the organizers already doing two other classic rock festivals this year) and this is more than likely just him teasing a new album or solo performance of his.
So who knows? Nothing is confirming the reunion, but also nothing is saying it won’t happen. We’ll make sure to keep you posted with any updates.
