Ottawa Senators play Friday night on home ice versus Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
The only Canadian team left in the playoffs is currently leading the series 2-1.
An adorable video has surfaced that shows just how enthusiastic and polite Sens fans have been during this epic run.
Senators fans celebrate in the street … but then politely move to the sidewalk when the traffic light changes (while sipping maple syrup and cuddling their pet beavers?)
This week, the Sens got some superstar support when Friends star Matthew Perry talked about being the only Senators fan in New York when the Ottawa boys were playing the New York Rangers.
Matthew Perry grew up in Ottawa (remember when he talked about beating up Prime Minister Justin Trudeau?) and said although his #1 team is the LA Kings, he also cheers for Erik Karlsson’s team. (Watch him talk Sens around the 1:00 minute mark).
The Sens scored 48 seconds in during Game #3 on Wednesday night and then had 3 goals in two minutes and 18 seconds.
I always show my 10-year-old son these big scoring moments because, as any hockey parent knows, sometimes in youth hockey, the kids can get down a goal or two and think the game is over. (How could we possibly score two more goals when we have only 15 minutes left?) But if you Be-Leaf** in the Ottawa Senators, then you know you can get 3 goals in two minutes and 18 seconds!
** Yes, I just put a Toronto Maple Leafs reference in there. – Sarah (Mother of hardcore Leafs fan).
