Is Wonder Woman the best super hero movie ever?
Gal Gadot stars in the new movie, which opens in theatres today.
The reviews on Rotten Tomatoes – which gives a whopping 94% ‘fresh’ reviews – are stunning:
- “Wonder Woman has raised the bar. Now let’s see if the boys can clear it.” – Washington Post
- “Your daughters should love it — and so should your sons.” – Boston Globe
- “What’s best about the film can be summed up in two words: Gal Gadot.” – The Age (Australia)
Growing up in the 1980s, one of my favourite shows was Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman.
Basically from kindergarten to Grade 5, I dressed up as Wonder Woman for Halloween. And, every year, I asked my aunt to make me a Wonder Woman birthday cake. (In Grade 6, I switched to a guitar birthday cake and I remember feeling somewhat sad that I’d abandoned the lasso of truth).
I’ve never made (or even bought) my son a birthday cake that can hold a (birthday) candle to this. One year, I ordered my kiddo custom-made Pokemon cake pops. They were pricey (I’ll never admit to my hubby how much they cost) and all the Pikachu ears fell off before the party even started. Maybe cake wasn’t made to be on a stick! – Sarah
