This weekend, if you’re craving an adventure on the water, go see The Rock in Baywatch instead of putting yourself on the Bow River.
The City of Calgary told Global News that the Bow water levels are dangerous high with the flow rate at 293 cubic metres per second.
“[This] is higher than we’ve seen in the last two years,” said Calgary Fire Department spokesperson Carol Henke.
The Calgary fire and police departments are asking you TO STAY OFF THE BOW until water levels return to normal. You’re also asked to use extreme caution on riverbanks as well.
Check out this Facebook post from the Calgary Police. One family recounts a scary moment on the river that may have ended much differently if the Calgary Police hadn’t instructed the family to wear their life jackets.

It’ll probably be pretty easy getting a seat in a Baywatch screening this week. The movie is not pulling in big numbers – plus, this weekend, it has to contend with the opening of Wonder Woman, which is getting awesome reviews! – Sarah
