Rod Stewart is getting a Sexy makeover.
Sunday night at MTV’s Video Music Awards, Rod Stewart will take his #1 hit Da Ya Think I’m Sexy and spank it straight into 2017.
He’s partnered with the pop group DNCE for a “re-imagined” version of the tune. DNCE is fronted by Jonas Brother Joe Jonas and is known for their mega pop hit Cake By the Ocean. (DNCE is pronounced D-N-C-E not “Dance”.)
Rod Stewart and DNCE will perform it live for the first time Sunday night at the VMAs. They’ll be doing it from Vegas for the California-based awards show.
Why the song upgrade? Rod Stewart has just signed with a new record label, Republic Records, which is also DNCE’s label.
Da Ya Think I’m Sexy was released on 1978’s Blondes Have More Fun and hen topped Billboard’s Hot 100 for four weeks in 1979.
