Trisha Yearwood wants to hear about the best places to eat in Calgary.
Yearwood is in town for another three shows with hubby Garth Brooks.
At the official Garth + Trisha press conference, the country superstars were asked about whether they had plans to get out of the Scotiabank Saddledome and play tourist in Calgary. They played four shows last week and have three more this coming weekend.
Trisha said they’re looking for local suggestions of places to go, especially restaurants.
I gave Trisha a couple of tips: Bathe in the guacamole at Native Tongues Taqueria and try the very cool White Rose Vegetarian Kitchen restaurant in Bowness. (You know I love Bowness!) The restaurant is vegetarian but there’s also a meat restaurant on site, The Coal Shed! The Shed serves pork ribs, beef brisket and Alberta pork butt while White Rose serves a delicious risotto cake: crispy yellow beet risotto cake, radicchio, grilled plum, Fairwind Farm goat cheese, almond harissa.
“The Coal Shed Smoke House is located directly in front of the White Rose Kitchen. It is a self-contained unit, no meats are prepared in the vegetarian restaurant,” the website says.
Another great suggestion is Sauce, which is located directly below Q107, 3320 17th Ave SW. Sauce is a restaurant, cafe and deli. They sell amazing take-home lasagna that I’ve passed off as my own many times!
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have already played 4 shows at the Dome and have another three to go:
- Friday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.;
- Saturday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m.;
- Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
We know there are many of you who are still hoping to go to Garth Brooks and Trisha. We snagged a few tickets for the final show Saturday night. Win them Wed., Thurs. and Friday on The Jeff and Sarah Show!
Garth Brooks set a ticket sales speed record for Calgary for the concerts, moving 57,000 tickets in 37 minutes.
