Calgary’s CIBC Run for the Cure raised $900,000 on Sunday morning with more than 5,000 people participating – 300 of them cancer survivors.
Jeff and I were honoured to emcee the annual event again this year. Every year, the weather is different. (It is Calgary!) We’ve watched people sprint through snow and stride in the sunshine.
Sunday was chilly, but the wind didn’t dampen everyone’s enthusiasm to support the breast cancer survivors and those who’ve lost loved ones to the disease.
The annual Run for the Cure is the largest single-day, volunteer-run event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research.
