Some boo-tiful news if you’re one of the many gob-lins who’ve been gobbling up the Halloween candy for weeks now.
A University of Westminster study on the relationship between watching scary movies and burning calories always resurfaces around October 31. The study says that watching horror movies can help you lose weight – and the scarier the movie, the more calories you’re going to burn.
Study participants were strapped to heart rate, oxygen and carbon dioxide monitors and then asked to watch different movies.
One woman was so scared watching The Shining, she burned 184 calories, the study says.
Jaws took the runner-up spot, with viewers burning on average 161 calories. The Exorcist came third with 158 calories.
