After the Calgary Stampeders Grey Cup loss, the name “Marquay McDaniel” started trending across Canada.
No, he didn’t steal Shania Twain’s dogsled.
In a post-game interview after the Stampeders 24-27 loss to the Toronto Argonauts, McDaniel seemed to be placing loss on the shoulders of Kamar Jorden after his late-game fumble. Jorden caught the pass, but Argo safety Jermaine Gabriel got in there and then Jorden dropped the ball. Argos halfback Cassius Vaughn grabbed it and sprinted down the field for a TD. The Stamps lost the Grey Cup the 2nd year in a row … and everyone was distraught. The end. Or was it …?
Was just in devastated #Stampeders locker room.— Kevin Smith (@Global_Smith) November 27, 2017
Marquay McDaniel said Kamar Jorden should feel bad for his fumble, said he should have secured the ball, that stupid football cost them the #GreyCup

As soon as this tweet went out, football fans and Stamps fans immediately started chiming in and chirping on Twitter. McDaniel immediately snapped back, saying he wasn’t criticizing just Kamar Jorden.
Y'all too sensitive on twitter lol. I never blamed anyone for the loss. Didn't throw anyone under the bus. If I fumbled I would've said it was stupid football.— Marquay McDaniel (@_McDaniel16) November 27, 2017
Marquay McDaniel was tweeting in response to messages like these:
If I'm Dave Dickenson, I'm not cutting Kamar Jorden, I'm sending Marquay McDaniel out of town on the rails. Total dick move to throw a teammate under the bus like that. Toxic.— Tyler Hupka (@thupka1982) November 27, 2017
I know you search your own name on Twitter, so Marquay McDaniel, your second consecutive loss ain't because of a fumble on one play. C'mon man.— Blue and Gold CFL (@BlueAndGoldCFL) November 27, 2017
