A Calgary judge has sentenced Darren Coupal five years in prison for driving his vehicle onto a sidewalk in Bridlewood in April 2008, killing one woman and badly injuring her wheelchair-bound son.
He was also banned from driving for ten years.
The victim was out walking with her son and a friend when they were mowed down.
Court heard Coupal was en route home that night, after drinking at a pub.
