Alberta Health Services says its data centre is back on line after that fire at Shaw court and the process is underway to bring all functions back up to speed as soon as possible, hopefully by the end of the weekend. Dr. Francois Belanger says about 100 elective and scheduled surgeries were postponed Friday. That's about half the procedures that would normally occur. He says alternative arrangements will be made, "Every procedure is necessary, every patients counts and we will reschedule as quickly as possible. we expect it will take several weeks to reschedule the procedures postponed." Belanger is also asking people to put off any lab work that isn't an emergency until next week. Meantime, all city sites and services have been restored. Officials say the I-T business unit will continue to monitor the stability of phones and network connections over the weekend. The Municipal Emergency Plan was activated on Wednesday due to the fire at Shaw Court. As a result, a number of City sites temporarily lost network and phone connections that impacted a number of services.
