For Calgary residents whose property was damaged by flooding in two major storms last year, time is running out to claim uninsurable damages under the Disaster Recovery Program.
Property and business owners have until August 22nd to submit a claim for damages in flooding that occured May 25th to 29th of last year, as well as August 5th of last year. Only uninsurable damage is eligible for the assistance.
So far, almost 450 applications have been received for these two weather events, and 1.6 million dollars has been paid out.
